Unearthed: Land of the Rising – Roo Veeren
An interactive installation combining a piece of functional ceramic work with folklore. Exploring the parallels between a small Wakefield village in Yorkshire and Japanese towns such as Mashiko with its rich pottery and tea-drinking traditions.

Roo Veeren will be creating a large sharing cup inspired by her ‘Wrenthorpe Haiku’, visitors will be invited to step into the space and share a cup of tea.

Wakefield Walk Book
Artist Peony Gent has created drawings and poems in response to a walk around Wakefield, which is combined in a zine for the public to follow as they discover a different side to Wakefield. Collect your free zine on the night.

Talking Rhubarb Totem – Jason Wilsher-Mills
Developed with Wakefield District Sight Aid, the piece aims to expand the sculpture’s sensory capacity, experienced through touch and other senses. The sculpture will be popping up in various locations in Wakefield until 29 September.

COPY – EVERYTHING BUT THE BATHING SUIT – Alex Sarkisian and Bahar Yürükoğlu
Copy is pleased to launch the sixth in their ongoing series of publications everything but the bathing suit, featuring artists Alex Sarkisian and Bahar Yürükoğlu. everything but the bathing suit brings together images and text developed throughout the artists’ collaborative practice, which began when they met as ship bunkmates on residency in the Arctic Circle and continued to an inverse archipelago in Panama.


The Art Walk is also a great opportunity to take a look around our shop, stocked full of beautiful cards, gifts and artwork by independent designers and makers. Plus, enjoy some delicious Italian coffee and bakes from Laura’s.

A map of participating venues will be available from our foyer in the week leading up to the event, so don’t forget to pick one up and start planning your route!
