Create your own limited range of professional prints in our one-day advanced printing session! Through demonstrations of developing his own work, our expert teaching artist will guide you through the finer details of darkroom printing, allowing you to build upon your knowledge of print, exposure, tone and contrast as well as learn how to read a negative and pre-visualise.
Learn the skill of selection when going through which negative is the best to print from and complete the day with the confidence to take your creative practice to the next level and take home your own limited range of prints.

Who is this workshop for?
This course suits those with a good basic knowledge of analogue printing in the darkroom. If you are totally new to darkroom printing, we would suggest starting with our ‘Darkroom Printing: Taster Session’ workshop first, before moving onto a more in depth understanding on our ‘Intro to Black and White Printing’ and finally, when you feel like you have a good basic knowledge, you arrive at here, where you’ll leave feeling equipped with advanced extensive technical knowledge and having made a series of refined silver gelatin prints.

Do I need to bring anything?
Students are required to bring a selection of negatives to work from. All paper and other materials will be provided.
Course Booking Terms and Conditions
Workshop and course bookings can be cancelled and refunded up until 7 days before the scheduled start date. Our workshops support the work we do as a charity, and because materials and equipment are ordered in advance, we regret that refunds cannot be offered less than 7 days before the workshop date.
Please note that Eventbrite’s booking fee is non-refundable, as are any donations submitted alongside a ticket payment. Bookings cannot be transferred between courses however bookings can be transferred to another person in the event that you are unable to attend on the day. In the event that The Art House needs to cancel a workshop for any reason, for example due to tutor illness or if lockdown measures are put back in place your ticket will be refunded in full.
