Join practicing photographer Emily Ryalls for a 4 week course covering a wide range of print making techniques that will expand your knowledge and leave you feeling a more confident darkroom printer.
The print making techniques and topics we’ll cover will be:
Reading your negatives and selecting for printing
Printing contact sheets
Dodging and burning
Solarisation
Double exposure

Dev, Stop, Fix is the perfect way to explore new techniques and connect with the burgeoning photography community in Wakefield.

This course is a great step up from the Taster Sessions and will lead you on nicely to one of our more advanced workshops or courses – such as Darkroom Printing Masterclass.

Students are required to bring a range of negatives to work from, all other materials (such as paper and chemistry) are included in the course fee and provided.

  • Who is the Workshop for?

This course can act as an introduction to darkroom printing but, as it is required that you bring along a selection of negatives, it is best suited to those with some experience of analogue photography.

  • Do I Need to Bring Anything?

Students are required to bring a selection of their own negatives to print from. The Art House will be providing chemistry and paper. It’s advised that you bring a few different negatives as you may find some easier to print from, than others.
