Delve into the world of the pioneering Impressionists and learn the painterly techniques of artists such as Monet, Degas, Cezanne and Manet. Featured in Sky Arts Portrait of the Year 2018, your teaching artist Richard Kitson will guide you step-by-step through the techniques of Impressionist artists.
Throughout this three-week evening course, you’ll be able to use this knowledge as inspiration to create your own unique series of paintings.
Due to the intimate class size, you will be able to really maximise your skill potential and gain confidence to continue practicing the techniques after the course has finished.

Who is the Workshop for?
This is a mixed ability course, ideal for complete beginners and those with some experience of painting and drawing. Those with previous experience may wish to use the course to develop different ideas and styles of painting and gain tutor advice along the way.

Do I Need to Bring Anything?
Basic materials will be provided including drawing materials, acrylic paints, brushes, cartridge paper and easels. If you wish to develop your work further you are advised to bring canvas paper or canvas boards along with you. Your tutor will discuss materials with you at the first session.
Course Booking Terms and Conditions
Workshop and course bookings can be cancelled and refunded up until 7 days before the scheduled start date. Our workshops support the work we do as a charity, and because materials and equipment are ordered in advance, we regret that refunds cannot be offered less than 7 days before the workshop date. Please note that Eventbrite’s booking fee is non-refundable.
Bookings cannot be transferred between courses however bookings can be transferred to another person in the event that you are unable to attend on the day.
In the event that The Art House needs to cancel a workshop for any reason, for example, due to tutor illness or if lockdown measures are put back in place your ticket will be refunded in full.
