Gelli Printing Workshop

Printing from gelatine plates, known as Gelli plates, is a form of monoprinting without the need for a press. It is quick and playful and can produce some interesting textures and patterns in prints. The process uses water-based inks and mark-making tools to create overprinted layers.
You will come away from the workshop with a range of different monoprints printed onto A4 cartridge paper as well as instructions on how to make your own gelatine plates at home.
Who is the course for?
For those who have previous printmaking skills this will be an opportunity to learn a new and interesting technique, although no previous experience is necessary and complete beginners are very welcome to attend. An ideal workshop for those who have completed our Introduction to Printmaking course and wish to continue developing their skills.
Do I need to bring anything?
All materials and equipment will be provided. If you have any of your own materials such as threads, leaves, lace, doilies etc, feel free to bring them along with you. You will also be given a set of workshop notes on making the gelatine plates.
Workshop and course bookings can be cancelled and refunded up until 7 days before the scheduled start date. Our workshops support the work we do as a charity, and because materials and equipment are ordered in advance, we regret that refunds cannot be offered less than 7 days before the workshop date. Please note that Eventbrite’s booking fee is non-refundable.
Bookings cannot be transferred between courses, however, bookings can be transferred to another person in the event that you are unable to attend on the day.
In the event that The Art House needs to cancel a workshop, your ticket will be refunded in full.
