Explore the art of Mokuhanga, the traditional Japanese woodblock printing technique on our one day workshop. This relief printing process uses water-based inks and is a great, non-toxic method of printmaking.

Learn to carve your own design into a block and print your own small edition of A5 prints to take home. You’ll be guided through the process in a step by step way in our professional print studio.

  • Who is the course for?

This is a mixed ability workshop ideal for complete beginners as well as those who have some previous printmaking experience and would like to add a new technique to their skills.

  • Do I need to bring anything?

All materials and equipment will be provided. Students can bring A5 images, books or drawings to use as inspiration if they wish. Refreshments will be provided but you may wish to bring some lunch along with you.

Workshop and course bookings may be cancelled up to 10 working days before the scheduled start date. Our commercial workshops support the work we do as a charity, and because materials and equipment are ordered in advance, we regret that refunds cannot be offered less than ten working days before the workshop date.

In the event that The Art House needs to cancel a workshop, your ticket will be refunded in full.

Bookings cannot be transferred between courses however bookings can be transferred to another person in the event that you are unable to attend on the day.
