Explore the linocut technique to create your own repeat surface patterns onto fabric.

You will learn how to carve a lino block using cutting tools, how to use relief inks and how to develop and print imagery onto textiles. The focus is to teach you some basic lino cutting skills which can be developed further at home.

  • What experience do I need?

This workshop is suitable for complete beginners in linocut and printing onto fabric, but those with existing experience working with fabric will still benefit from exploring new ways of printing imagery onto cloth.

  • Who is the course for?

This workshop is ideal for complete beginners or those who have some previous printmaking experience and would like to add a new technique to their existing skills.

  • Do I need to bring anything?

All materials and equipment will be provided. Refreshments will be provided but you may wish to bring some lunch for the longer break. If you have any fabric you’d like to print onto feel free to bring this along with you.

Workshop and course bookings can be cancelled and refunded up until 7 days before the scheduled start date. Our workshops support the work we do as a charity, and because materials and equipment are ordered in advance, we regret that refunds cannot be offered less than 7 days before the workshop date. Please note that Eventbrite’s booking fee is non-refundable.

Bookings cannot be transferred between courses, however, bookings can be transferred to another person in the event that you are unable to attend on the day.

In the event that The Art House needs to cancel a workshop, your ticket will be refunded in full.
