Taking inspiration from the exhibition ‘Conversations with Nature’ you’ll spend the day exploring form, texture, colour, and line with a focus on plants and botanical forms.

You’ll be guided through a series of noticing, drawing, and experimental mark-making exercises using a variety of wet and dry media, including pencil, ink, and acrylics. The focus is on playful creative processes and the experience of seeing through drawing, rather than creating a finished artwork.

This workshop coincides with the exhibition ‘Conversations with Nature’. The exhibition features paintings by Alison Critchlow, Natalie Dowse, and your tutor, Helen Thomas.

You will leave the workshop with a small portfolio of worksheets. These might inspire further development in painting, ceramics, print, or other art forms.

  • Who is the Workshop for?

  • Do I Need to Bring Anything?
