Learn how to prepare and screen print your own photographic image onto paper on this one-day workshop. You will be shown how to put your own photograph into halftone using Photoshop before being guided through the screen preparation process using light-sensitive emulsion. Once your image is prepared on the screen, you’ll be shown how to mix ink colours and print multiple copies of your image.
You’ll be able to take your prints away with you at the end of day and will also be given a set of workshop notes.
Who is the course for?
This is a great follow on workshop for those who have attended our Introduction to Printmaking classes to develop skills using the screen printing process. Complete beginners are also welcome to attend as the workshop will be taught in a step by step way.
Do I need to bring anything?
If you have a particular photograph you wish to print you can bring this along as a jpeg image on a memory stick or the actual photograph which can be scanned/photocopied. There will be other examples you can use on the day if you don’t have an idea in mind. All materials and equipment will be provided, along with refreshments but you may wish to bring some lunch along with you.
Workshop and course bookings may be cancelled up to 10 working days before the scheduled start date. Our commercial workshops support the work we do as a charity, and because materials and equipment are ordered in advance, we regret that refunds cannot be offered less than ten working days before the workshop date.
In the event that The Art House needs to cancel a workshop, your ticket will be refunded in full.
Bookings cannot be transferred between courses however bookings can be transferred to another person in the event that you are unable to attend on the day.
