From Earth to Cloth Natural Dyeing Workshops | Free

24 February 2026 - 14 April 2026

Join us for an afternoon exploring natural dyeing with Kirstie Williams, kicking off our From Earth to Cloth project. This project is supported with a Seeds of Change Grant from the Association of Cultural Enterprises awarded to The Art House, and aims to support the development sustainable income for our Shop.

During the session, you’ll explore natural dyeing processes, experimenting with colour and pattern to create a range of fabrics that will later be developed into products for The Art House.

Learn how colour is extracted from natural sources such as plants, flowers, and vegetables, and how to dye a variety of materials including cotton, silk, and linen. With step-by-step guidance from your teaching artist, you’ll experiment with dye baths to discover the wide range of colours that can be achieved through natural dyeing.

You’ll take away a selection of dyed swatches, while larger pieces of fabric will form part of the ongoing project.

Everyone is welcome, messy clothes are recommended! Book your place at the links below.
