The Art House’s international work continues through a partnership with the Royal Over-Seas League, which will see Aastha Gupta and Kim Karabo Makin take part in a two-month residency in Wakefield this autumn.
Botswana-born Kim Karabo Makin is a multidisciplinary artist and DJ who combines sculpture, sound and installation with archival research. Her practice is informed by a lived sense of displacement and multiculturalism, and how this shapes a person or community’s identity.
The artists will be given the time, mentoring and networking opportunities to develop their creative practices for the first time in the UK.
This project is supported by the Royal Over Seas League, a non-profit members’ club dedicated to championing international friendship and understanding.
