Spend a festive evening getting creative in the Print Studio and learn how to make your own linocut Christmas cards to send to friends and family.

You’ll start by designing and carving your own lino block, learning how to use the tools and materials before inking it up and printing your design. Using our traditional Albion relief printing press, you’ll create an edition of unique handmade cards – perfect for adding a personal touch to your Christmas post.

You’ll be guided through the process step by step in our professional print studio, with plenty of support as you get to grips with this traditional printing technique. No previous linocut experience is needed and this workshop is even suited to those completely new to printmaking! You’ll be encouraged to experiment and make the process your own.

You’ll leave with a set of unique, hand-printed Christmas cards ready to send to friends and family, as well as the skills and confidence to continue exploring linocut at home.

Who is the workshop for?

Suitable for adults who are complete beginners in linocut as you’ll be guided through the process with expert guidance. Those with some previous experience may also attend to develop their skills and ideas.

Do I need to bring anything?

All equipment and tools will be provided. Feel free to bring along images/books for inspiration. We recommend wearing old clothes in case you get a bit inky! Please wear sensible shoes with a covered toe – so no sandals, ballet shoes or high heels in the print studio.

Booking Terms & Conditions

Workshop and course bookings can be cancelled and refunded (less a 10% administration fee) up until 7 days before the scheduled start date. Our workshops support the work we do as a charity, and because materials and equipment are ordered in advance, we regret that refunds cannot be offered less than 7 days before the workshop date.

Bookings cannot be transferred between courses however bookings can be transferred to another person in the event that you are unable to attend on the day. In the event that The Art House needs to cancel a workshop for any reason, for example due to tutor illness, your ticket will be refunded in full.
