Create your own ceramic mug in this hands-on introduction to functional pottery with local ceramicist Hannah Way. This workshop focuses on simple forms and thoughtful details, guiding you through the process of shaping a mug that feels good to hold and use every day.
You’ll learn handbuilding techniques to form the body, along with how to shape and attach a pulled handle. We’ll also explore surface finishes, from smooth to more tactile, expressive textures and decorating by painting with coloured slip.
By the end of the session, you’ll have crafted a mug that reflects your personal style ready to use every day! We’ll then glaze and kiln-fire it for you within three weeks from the workshop date, ready to be collected!
