Gelli printing is a form of monoprinting without the need for a press.

Spend your Saturday morning using gel plates in our professional studio, with a small group along with local printmaking artist Rachel Richardson, aka Bobshaped.

You’ll enjoy the quick and playful process that produces fantastically unique results. Build layers of colour and texture using a range of mark-making tools and inks, and take home with you a range of different A4 monoprints, as well as instructions on how to make your own gelli plate at home!

Who is this workshop for?

This session is aimed at beginners, so don’t worry if you’ve never done printmaking before! It is also suitable if you have some previous experience but would like to try a new technique and gain some new inspiration.

Do I need to bring anything?

All materials and equipment will be provided. If you have any thin objects such as lace, threads, leaves, etc then feel free to bring them along to experiment with. We recommend wearing old clothes in case you get a bit inky! Please wear sensible shoes with a covered toe – so no sandals, ballet shoes or high heels in the print studio.

How to Find Us

You can find information about getting to us on public transport and the nearby parking options here.

Booking Terms & Conditions

Workshop and course bookings can be cancelled and refunded (less a 10% administration fee) up until 7 days before the scheduled start date. Our workshops support the work we do as a charity, and because materials and equipment are ordered in advance, we regret that refunds cannot be offered less than 7 days before the workshop date.

Bookings cannot be transferred between courses however bookings can be transferred to another person in the event that you are unable to attend on the day. In the event that The Art House needs to cancel a workshop for any reason, for example due to tutor illness, your ticket will be refunded in full.
