Community Feast
From 12:00, gather with us in The Art House backyard for a free community feast celebrating the flavours of the world. We’ll be serving delicious dishes chosen by members of our local Studio of Sanctuary community, each one carrying a story, a memory, or a taste of home.
It’s a chance to eat , share cultures, and celebrate the power of food that bring people together. And if you’d like to add to the table, why not bring along a dish of your own to share with someone else? Whether it’s a treasured family recipe or a personal favourite, it’s another way to connect and pass on a piece of your story. Enjoy your meal on screen-printed napkins and tablecloths made by local artists, and take a moment to savour how creativity and community go hand in hand.
Stories and Recipes Sharing Station
All summer, we’ve been working with community participant Minoo, who has collected personal food stories from across the globe.
Drop into our Coffee Shop to pick up a set of our beautifully illustrated Taste of Unity recipe cards. Take them home to recreate in your own kitchen as a legacy to the stories collected and our first Freedom Festival!
