Join us 13-14 November as The Art House comes alive after dark as part of Wakefield’s Light Up festival.
Across two late night evenings, join us for events filled with creativity and colour after dark with light up artworks, glowing creative activities and a brand-new immersive exhibition, as part of Wakefield’s annual celebration of light and creativity.
Bring the family for free glow-in-the-dark creative activities perfect for all ages. Drop in to our Print Studio from 16:00-19:00 both days to screen print your very own glow in the dark poster using special phosphorescent inks, and then move through our brand new immersive light installation by artist Seiko Kinoshita.
At the heart of this year’s programme is the launch of Seiko Kinoshita – Distant: Shared Memories of Home in our Main Gallery The project brings together sculpture, mixed reality and audio to create a changing, atmospheric dreamscape of light, sound, shadow and texture.
You can also explore Makers Wonderland, our festive showcase of handcrafted gifts, artworks and seasonal treasures by Yorkshire artists and makers.
Our Coffee House will be serving warming winter drinks and festive treats throughout the event – the perfect place to warm up and soak up the atmosphere.
