Welcome to the Makers Wonderland, a curated exhibition that brings together a range of affordable and inspiring gifts for the festive season. Step into a wonderful world of gifts created by local independent artists, makers and designers, transforming our beautiful Tiled Gallery for a fresh take on the winter craft market.
This immersive exhibition invites visitors to cosy up on armchairs with seasonal drinks, whilst browsing artworks, gifts, prints, ceramics and furniture all available to purchase and take away today.
Browse hand- thrown candlesticks and ceramic vessels made in the Art House Ceramic Studio by Hannah Way. Leeds-based illustrator and textile artist Cait McEniff’s hand-crafted tapestries hang on the gallery wall with bold, collaged designs. Our Wakefield-based makers include Lucy Norton’s colourful, cosy handmade quilts and Sophie Amelia’s screen-printed homewares focusing on colour and texture. Ian Stephenson’s bespoke lamp bases are available to buy exclusively at The Art House, repurposed from original organ pieces from the Chapel in Wakefield’s Bretton Country Park. Yorkshire-based printer and Art House Studio Holder Ali Appleby’s illustrative lampshades and upholstered furniture are displayed, inspired by found patterns, nature and everyday objects.
From small thoughtful gifts to generous presents, this is a unique opportunity to shop for exclusive and special products, handmade locally.
