Join Studio Holders at our Open Studios event on 8 November as they open their doors to showcase their practice.
If you’ve ever wondered what’s behind the doors of The Art House Studios, this is your perfect opportunity to find out.
Open Studios allows you to meet some of the best contemporary Artist, Designers and Craftspeople in Wakefield. You’ll be able to find out first hand about their practice, see demonstrations of making processes and view artworks in the place they were created. Many of our Artists will also be offering original artwork to buy directly.
You’ll also have the chance to explore our Grade II Listed Building, the former Carnegie Library. Take part in free activities in our Maker Spaces throughout the day and browse the CRAFTED Makers Market.
Open Studios is perfect for the whole family, and that includes your furry friends too! Our building is dog-friendly and we can’t wait to welcome you all in to see what The Art House is all about. Our Coffee House will also be serving light lunches and baked goods all day long.
This year, we have the following artists taking part – Ellie Way, Kirstie Williams, Helen Thomas, Lucy Wright, Kate Owens, Ali Appleby, Jim Souper, Dave Royston, Abbie Brewer, Jake Mullins, Debbie Lough, Craft Tech Game, Mary Duggan, Tony Wade, Emily Binks, Hannah Way, Nick Vaughan, and John Mayson.
If we haven’t convinced you yet, head over to our Instagram where we’ll be sharing sneak peeks of our Artist Studios and updates in the run up to the event, including the announcement of the full lineup of Studio Holders taking part!
