Our Summer Gardening Club is a recurring event taking place on Wednesdays and Fridays, 2:30-4pm.
Since 2017 The Art House have been a Studio of Sanctuary, using art, culture and creative processes to bring all people together including people seeking asylum and refugees with the wider Wakefield population. Working creatively and learning about each other we offer friendship, and integration for all communities.
Around The Art House there is a community Urban Garden and from July to October people will be able to tend and water the plants. People from a range of communities can come together and learn about the plants environmental, aesthetic and nutritional values.
During wet weather the club will meet inside The Art House in Studio 3 and build a catalogue of the plants, herbs and trees in the community garden. In a relaxed and sociable setting the Gardening Club will also be able to share knowledge about the culinary properties of plants and how plants can be used for dye making, decorations and in a myriad of other ways.
Winter Gardening Club will begin on the 2 October.
In addition to our Summer Gardening Club we have a selection of other free, regular activities to get involved in. Take a look at our Talk and Draw sessions, Skillshare or Family Crafts!
