Cosmos brings together the work of artists Jessica Grady and Elnaz Yazdani, who transform embroidery into vibrant, contemporary art. Their work balances chaos and harmony with curiosity and play.
Using recycled and industrial materials alongside traditional hand stitching, both artists create textiles that explore tactility and pattern resulting in artworks reimagining galaxies and solar systems.
Grady’s practice is characterised by intricate details and delicate embellishments that draw the eye closer, while Yazdani builds dense, structural surfaces that explore scale and transformation. Together, their works celebrate sustainability, creativity, and the joyful potential of embroidery as a contemporary art form.
Jessica Grady is an award-winning embroidery artist, tutor, and author from Pontefract, West Yorkshire. Her practice includes sculpture and large-scale wall pieces, transforming recycled materials into vibrant artworks. Her work has been exhibited across the UK, Europe, and Asia and her first book Stitched Mixed Media was published in 2023.
Based in Yorkshire, Elnaz Yazdani is an artist and educator committed to pushing embroidery forward as both an art form and a tool for community wellbeing. She specialises in using unusual and upcycled materials, reimagining traditional techniques into bold, sculptural works that move between fashion, jewellery, and installation.
