The Art House’s international work continues through a partnership with the Royal Over-Seas League, which will see Asta and Kim Karabo Makin take part in a two-month residency in Wakefield this autumn.
Asta is a filmmaker and multimedia artist from India. Asta is the founder of The Urdu Project, an artist and research collective which uses the Urdu language as a metaphor for understanding cultural exchange and crossing borders. Her practice lies where contemporary technology and research intersect to create engaging visual art, films and publications.
The artists will be given the time, mentoring and networking opportunities to develop their creative practices for the first time in the UK.
This project is supported by the Royal Over Seas League, a non-profit members’ club dedicated to championing international friendship and understanding.
