The Art House is delighted to welcome Babeworld on residency as they prepare for their exciting new commission in partnership between The LEVEL Centre and Unlimited.
Babeworld are a collective that seeks to create a more representative art world through the creation of projects for those who are marginalised in the arts. Their new commission will explore how neurodivergent people experience creative spaces as audiences, participants and artists. The project will be informed by their ongoing research into disability and artist studios. Their research has clear findings around physical space being hostile and disabling to a range of intersectionally disabled people, and highlights an absence of representation around neurodivergent experiences in creative/cultural spaces. The residencies and project will be informed by community engagement and culminates in an exhibition with video essay, soundscape and installation at The LEVEL centre and The Art House in autumn 2024.
