Sheena Hussain

30 July 2021 - 30 September 2021

About the residency

Poet and essayist Sheena Hussain has been selected as the inaugural recipient of a writing residency partnership between The Art House and Corridor8. She will be developing a piece of creative writing throughout July, August and September 2021 that will be published by Corridor8 later in the year.

Hussain will be meeting with a range of artists during her residency, including fellow artists in residence and those based at The Art House full time. She will be exploring individual creative practices, as well as shared themes and processes.

“I am thrilled  that I was selected for my first ever writing residency, here at The Art House. I am looking forward to working with the studio holder community and selecting two contrasting artists. I am hoping to shed new light on their creative pieces, by producing a written piece over the next 2 months, which will be published by Corridor8.  The Art House is the perfect place for me to nurture my own art form.”

Corridor8 residency supported using public funding by Arts Council England.
