Cole Ndelu & Dimple B. Shah: ROSL Artists in Residence, Autumn 2019

The annual ROSL International Residency with The Art House invites two early career artists living and working in commonwealth countries for an eight week residency in UK, between London and Wakefield.

This year Cole Ndelu and Dimple B. Shah were selected by a panel of curators and professionals from ROSL, The Art House, The Tetley and Yorkshire Sculpture Park.

Laura Yuile, Artists in Residence, July 2019

London-based sculptor Laura Yuile was in residence at The Art House throughout July 2019. A Brick Tunnel with a Concrete Floor (on display from 01 August to 12 October 2019), presents new works by Laura Yuile alongside works from the Arts Council Collection. Curated by Lauren Velvick.

Studio of Sanctuary Print Workshops at The Art House

At special Open Studio events throughout the year, artists and creative businesses at The Art House open their studio doors and invite visitors to explore the place where the creativity happens. Everyone is welcome and no knowledge of art is required!

Tony Heaton: Artist in Residence, March 2019

Artist and disability rights activist Tony Heaton was in residence at The Art House between 04 – 29 March 2019. Altered, an exhibition of work produced during this time is on display from 28 March – 18 May 2019.

Buhle Wonder Mbambo: Artist in Residence, Autumn 2018

Buhle Wonder Mbambo joined the creative community at The Art House, Wakefield in September and October 2018, concluding in the exhibition, In Residence. He worked alongside Joey Chin as part of two concurrent artist residencies offered in partnership with the Royal Over-Seas League.
