Explore next-steps in bookbinding to make a hardcover book.

On this one-day workshop you will learn how to make a case bound hardcover book from scratch. You will stitch together the pages, create the cover and assemble it together in this one session.

The course will also encourage you to think about the nature of the book and what a book is, as well as look at the alternative ways artists have constructed their own books. This course will be taught in a step-by-step way with tutor advice and guidance. You’ll come away with your own hardcover book and some ideas for next steps in bookbinding.

Who is the workshop for?

The course is ideal for those who have attended one of our introductory bookbinding courses, or who have some basic experience of bookbinding.

Do I need to bring anything?

All the materials needed to make your hardcover book will be provided on the day.

Booking Terms & Conditions

Workshop and course bookings can be cancelled and refunded (less a 10% administration fee) up until 7 days before the scheduled start date. Our workshops support the work we do as a charity, and because materials and equipment are ordered in advance, we regret that refunds cannot be offered less than 7 days before the workshop date.

Bookings cannot be transferred between courses however bookings can be transferred to another person in the event that you are unable to attend on the day. In the event that The Art House needs to cancel a workshop for any reason, for example due to tutor illness, your ticket will be refunded in full.
