Design, Print & Make a Lampshade

With guidance from Aidan, you’ll learn how to use block printing techniques to build up patterns, experiment with colour and create designs that reflect your own style. You’ll discover how simple printed marks can be combined to create eye-catching patterns, with plenty of opportunity to experiment and see where your ideas take you.

Once your fabric has been printed and set, you’ll be guided through the process of constructing your lampshade, learning how to turn your printed textile into a functional piece for your home. You can choose to make either a pendant or table lampshade, creating something that’s as individual as your own design.

Whether you’re completely new to textile printing or have some previous printmaking experience, this workshop offers a welcoming space to explore new techniques, develop your creative skills and enjoy the satisfaction of making something by hand.
