Enjoy a creative day designing and producing your own landscape by needle felting.

From coastal scenes to countryside views, you will have the freedom to build up the layers of your own picture. You will start with using a neutral coloured pre-felt as your base layer and work on top adding additional details throughout the day.

You will be given support and guidance throughout the workshop by Agnis Smallwood to help you realise your outcome, through group demonstrations as well as one to one support. You will have access to a colourful palette of wool fibers as well as all the equipment needed for use during the session. Some dexterity with your hands is required for this workshop.

Agnis Smallwood is a Designer, Maker, Researcher, Educator based in Yorkshire, she specialises in woven textiles. She produces her own hand woven products from her studio in Leeds as well as spending much of her time facilitating opportunities for people to explore different textile processes for themselves.

Agnis graduated from Cumbria Institute of the Arts in 2009 in BA Contemporary Applied Arts. She has since completed her MA in Artist Teacher and Contemporary Practice, in 2017 from Goldsmiths, University of London.

Who is the workshop for?

This workshop is suitable for beginners and those with previous textile skills who would like to learn the process of needle-felting.

Do I need to bring anything?

All equipment will be provided for you. You may wish to bring some lunch along with you, or you can order light lunches on site from our delicious Coffee House.

Booking Terms & Conditions

Workshop and course bookings can be cancelled and refunded (less a 10% administration fee) up until 7 days before the scheduled start date. Our workshops support the work we do as a charity, and because materials and equipment are ordered in advance, we regret that refunds cannot be offered less than 7 days before the workshop date.

Bookings cannot be transferred between courses however bookings can be transferred to another person in the event that you are unable to attend on the day. In the event that The Art House needs to cancel a workshop for any reason, for example due to tutor illness, your ticket will be refunded in full.
