Learn how to make your own screen printing pastes from natural, plant-based colour.

Running over two days on Friday 27 & Saturday 28 March 10:00am – 2:30pm, this two day course we will explore how to make inks/pastes for screen printing onto paper, using natural sources such as plants, vegetables, and natural dye extracts.
You will make a range of colour tests and use modifiers to change the shades which can be achieved.

The pastes will then be used to screen print onto paper – the focus will be on blank screens with simple shapes using paper stencils and you will be encouraged to build up layers to show how the colours can overlay.

This course is aimed at those who have some previous experience of screen printing and wish to learn about making their own screen printing pastes with consideration for the environment.

Who is this workshop for?

This workshop is aimed at those who have some previous screen printing experience and would like to develop their skills further, using their own handmade inks.

Do I need to bring anything?

All materials and equipment will be provided. Please wear old clothes in case you get mucky and shoes with covered toes in the print studio.

Booking Terms & Conditions

Workshop and course bookings can be cancelled and refunded (less a 10% administration fee) up until 7 days before the scheduled start date. Our workshops support the work we do as a charity, and because materials and equipment are ordered in advance, we regret that refunds cannot be offered less than 7 days before the workshop date.

Bookings cannot be transferred between courses however bookings can be transferred to another person in the event that you are unable to attend on the day. In the event that The Art House needs to cancel a workshop for any reason, for example due to tutor illness, your ticket will be refunded in full.
