On this one-day workshop you will learn how to make a case bound hardcover book from scratch. You will stitch together the pages, create the cover and assemble it together in this one session. The course will also encourage you to think about the nature of the book and what a book is, as well as look at the alternative ways artists have constructed their own books.
This course will be taught in a step-by-step way with tutor advice and guidance. You’ll come away with your own hardcover book and some ideas for next steps in bookbinding.

Who is the workshop for?
This workshop is ideal for adults who already have some basic bookbinding skills and wish to develop them further to create a hardcover book. This is a great follow on workshop for those who have already attended our Introduction to Bookbinding workshop.

Do I need to bring anything?
Materials will be provided, along with a set of technical notes for future reference.
Course Booking Terms and Conditions
Workshop and course bookings can be cancelled and refunded up until 7 days before the scheduled start date. Our workshops support the work we do as a charity, and because materials and equipment are ordered in advance, we regret that refunds cannot be offered less than 7 days before the workshop date.
Please note that Eventbrite’s booking fee is non-refundable, as are any donations submitted alongside a ticket payment. Bookings cannot be transferred between courses however bookings can be transferred to another person in the event that you are unable to attend on the day. In the event that The Art House needs to cancel a workshop for any reason your ticket will be refunded in full.
