About North Bound

North Bound was born out of a passion to increase visibility and opportunity for local image makers, and to bring more contemporary photography to our doorstep in Wakefield. In 2021 we built a darkroom that could break down barriers, creating an inclusive and accessible space for everyone, specifically those who felt underrepresented in darkrooms. Since then, we’ve worked to expand this and embed photography deeper within our programme. North Bound is a development of this, creating opportunity for image makers to share their work with new audiences in an affordable and accessible way, and for the local community to discover exciting new practices in photography right now.

We are looking for Yorkshire-based artists working with photography in diverse forms, including zines, exhibition catalogues, prints, and DIY publications.

Applications accepted before 6 June. Full application details can be found here
