The Art Shop celebrates independent artists and makers and stocks a range of high quality, unique products that are otherwise unavailable on the high street.

Why sell with us?

For £25 a month you will receive the following benefits:

  • Presence in The Art Shop during our opening times and featured, high traffic events such as Artwalk, Open Studios and Long Division
  • A great platform and involvement at the heart of the creative community in Wakefield
  • Featured in ‘Our Makers’ section of the website (coming soon)
  • Regular social media promotion by our marketing team – ‘Meet the Maker’
  • Design/production of individual promotional flyers to be stocked in the shop
  • Standardised pricing/packaging, reducing the cost for the maker
  • Full payment of your individual monthly sales
  • Monthly sales/progress reports

 

We’re looking for

  • You must have the right to sell your work
  • Your work must not infringe upon the copyright and intellectual property of others
  • You are able to provide high quality work that is complete and professionally packaged for sale in the commercial marketplace
  • You are happy for us to share imagery of your products in our shop on our active social media accounts and website
  • You have social media accounts and are willing to support The Art Shop and its affiliated stockists
  • You must be able to deliver or post your work to us in Wakefield during our opening hours.

 

How does it work?

1. Email us with a submission of interest (see below)

2. We will email you with an inventory form, inventory guidelines and The Art Shop terms and conditions.

3. We notify you of the selected product

4. Sign the Terms and Conditions and you arrange to have the selected products delivered to the shop

5.We will get in touch for your bank details and to arrange a direct debit of £25.00 for the monthly submission price

6. Our marketing team will get in touch about promoting you and your work

7. Your products will be merchandised, promotional postcards printed and you will be added to our ‘makers page’ on the website.

8. We pay you on a monthly basis for any products sold!


How to apply

If you would like to submit your products for consideration, please get in touch via shop@the-arthouse.org.uk with the following information:

  • Your name, business name and primary location
  • A brief (up to 100 words) summary of your creative practice and a bit of information about the products you are submitting (materials/processes etc)
  • No more than 10 images of the specific items you are submitting and state the prices for each product. Please ensure the images are well lit and demonstrate your products truly and clearly, Images can be sent at 72dpi. (The Art Shop run a Sale or Return only policy so please be aware that the price to indicate is the final retail price)
  • Links to your social media and website / portfolio if you have one

 

We advise that all applicants read the submission guidelines in its entirety and ensure that they are able to fulfil the Art Shop requirements. If your submission is successful, we will be in touch within 7 days.

The Art Shop endeavour to accept and support all submissions, however, if we cannot due to our fixed capacity we will add you to our waiting list and get back in touch when we have availability.
