Learn how to throw on the pottery wheel on this one day workshop in our ceramics studio, taught by local Ceramicist Hannah Way.

Experiment with different types of pottery wheels and be guided through the ceramic processes including: throwing, coning, lifting a wall and the introduction of tools.
At the end of the session you will select your favourite four pieces, which will be glazed and fired through our kiln, ready for collection three weeks later.

This five-hour session is taught in a small group with no more than 4 participants, designed to maximise your time with your teaching artist, allowing you to spend focused time on developing your skills and improve your throwing.

Who is the workshop for?

This course is suitable for adults who are complete beginners or for those who wish to refresh their previous knowledge. You don’t need to feel confident in clay to start this course as all aspects of the medium are covered.

Do I need to bring anything?

All equipment and tools will be provided for you on the day. We recommend wearing old clothes or bringing an apron in case you get a bit messy! If you have long hair please tie it back.
