We are delighted to welcome Charan Singh to The Art House as one of our Artists in Residence this summer.
Charan will be connecting with local communities, researching, and pursuing new developments using a range of techniques including a series of photographic studio portraits, moving image and text-based works.
Engaging with our Maker Spaces, Charan will re-examine and re-create minor figures from company paintings; a colonial formulation of the subaltern, and its modern day iteration within queer archives. He will be using these explorations as a means to disrupt Euro-American versions of queerness.
