Join us to create some Japanese hanging scrolls inspired by the words and pictures of the Japanese language.
You’ll discover the beauty and patterns of the Japanese language; the traditional way to display East Asian calligraphy.
Learn how to write in Katakana and paint one of the powerful ideograms of Kanji for your scroll.
You’ll come away with your own beautifully decorated hanging art work inspired by Japanese art, and calligraphy.

Who is the workshop for?
Perfect for complete beginners – adults who’d like to explore Japanese art and calligraphy.

All materials will be provided on the day.

Booking Terms & Conditions
Workshop and course bookings can be cancelled and refunded (less a 10% administration fee) up until 7 days before the scheduled start date. Our workshops support the work we do as a charity, and because materials and equipment are ordered in advance, we regret that refunds cannot be offered less than 7 days before the workshop date.
Bookings cannot be transferred between courses however bookings can be transferred to another person in the event that you are unable to attend on the day. In the event that The Art House needs to cancel a workshop for any reason, for example due to tutor illness, your ticket will be refunded in full.
