We’re looking for a Facilities and Gallery Technician to join our team at The Art House. This role works to ensure our buildings, galleries, studios, and outdoor spaces are safe, well-maintained, and beautifully presented while supporting our commitment to accessibility, diversity, opportunity, and equality.

Job Title: Facilities and Gallery Technician
Reporting to: Head of Buildings
Location: The Art House, Drury Lane, Wakefield. WF1 2TE
Salary: £26,000 (FTE)
Working Hours: Full Time (37.5 hours per week)
Holiday: 25 days per annum plus bank holidays (FTE)
Term: Permanent

We are committed to flexible working and welcome applications from candidates seeking part-time hours. We would consider appointing one full-time postholder or up to two part-time postholders working up to 3 days per week each, depending on the skills and availability of applicants.


The Facilities and Gallery Technician is a hands-on role focused on the practical maintenance, presentation and day-to-day care of The Art House’s (TAH) spaces. You will play a key role in ensuring TAH remains a safe, welcoming and well- maintained environment for artists, Studio Holders, visitors and staff.

Working across facilities, technical support and exhibition delivery, the role helps ensure the smooth operation of TAH’s diverse programme of activity. The role is central to support the maintenance and presentation of TAH’s buildings, galleries, studios, and outdoor spaces. Working with and reporting to the Head of Buildings, the role combines practical maintenance responsibilities with exhibition installation support and general building upkeep.

The role helps support the needs of artists, studio holders, participants, visitors and staff, contributing to a welcoming and accessible environment for everyone who uses TAH.
