Graduate artists Ronnie Danaher, Michael Roberts, Danielle Rooker will be in residence at The Art House throughout February.

About the artists
Ronnie Danaher uses video and sculpture to explore intersections between the internet, technology, and religion. Danaher’s current work looks at Wakefield Cathedral to consider how the church has adapted to the digital revolution.
Michael Roberts’ practice involves developing woodblock carvings that become more sculptural as time goes on. His collaborative practice further involves building social spaces such as skateparks and other areas on dilapidated land. Roberts hopes to use this opportunity to combine these two strands of his practice.
Danielle Rooker specialises in filmmaking and performance. She has recently been exploring ideas about trauma, storytelling, infertility, femininity and witchcraft, and investigating how these themes interlink with one another. She hopes to make more film work on this theme whilst in residence.
About the Graduate Residency programme
Our graduate residencies offer an opportunity for recent graduates to spend four weeks at The Art House developing their practice outside of the university setting. As well as having studio, workshop and accommodation space, the participants receive a bursary towards materials and living costs while on the residency. We provide a responsive workshop programme and tutorial sessions around topics such as applying for funding, project management and budgeting and how these can be integrated into continued professional practice.
The Art House works with graduates from a small selection of Fine Art BA and MA courses at universities across the North. We are privileged to work with The University of Leeds, Leeds Arts University, Liverpool John Moores University, The University of Lincoln and The University of Huddersfield.
