The Art House Solo Artist Residency offers committed, adventurous creatives the time, space, and support to break new ground in their practice.
We believe that great art often emerges when artists are given the freedom to explore without constraint, to test ideas, take risks, and embrace experimentation. Our Solo Residency is designed to do just that: to give you the conditions to think deeply, make boldly, and grow with confidence.
Over recent years, we have extended our artist residencies programme for those who have been traditionally underrepresented, or for creatives who have taken career breaks for a variety of reasons, and subsequently faced barriers in restarting their creative practice.
Our 2024 solo residency artists were Christopher Samuel, Jakob Rowlinson and Tonye Ekine. Our 2025 artists include Amak Mahmoodian, Emily Ryalls and Emma Bolland.
Artists are supported with paid, dedicated time and space to focus intensively on their work. Free accommodation and studio access in our accessible building and professional mentoring, feedback, and creative development. Our residencies offer a budget to suport arotst fee, materials and travel.
